Love, Revenge & Peace

Healing Can Be So Hard When Your Inner Child Wants Love, Your Teenage Self Wants Revenge, and Your Current Self Wants Peace

Healing is a journey, and like all journeys, it comes with its own set of challenges. One of the most challenging aspects of healing is the conflicting emotions that can arise when we confront our past selves. When we begin to heal, we may find that our inner child wants love, our teenage self wants revenge, and our current self wants peace. These conflicting emotions can make the healing process feel overwhelming, but with patience and perseverance, we can find a way to move forward.

Our Inner Child Wants Love

Our inner child is the part of ourselves that holds onto our childhood experiences, both good and bad. When we begin to heal, our inner child may surface, seeking the love and care that it may not have received in the past. It's important to acknowledge and validate the emotions that arise from our inner child, and to show ourselves the love and care we may have missed out on. We can do this by practising self-compassion and self-care, engaging in activities that bring us joy and comfort, and seeking support from others who can offer us love and validation.

Our Teenage Self Wants Revenge

Our teenage self is the part of ourselves that may have been hurt, betrayed, or wronged in the past. When we begin to heal, our teenage self may resurface, seeking revenge for the pain and hurt it experienced. While it's normal to feel anger and resentment towards those who may have hurt us, seeking revenge can hinder our healing process. Instead, we can acknowledge and validate our emotions and work towards forgiveness and letting go of past hurt. Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting or condoning past behaviour, but rather, it's a way to release the emotional weight that we may be carrying from our past experiences.

Our Current Self Wants Peace

Our current self is the part of ourselves that seeks inner peace and calm. When we begin to heal, our current self may seek to find balance and harmony in our lives. We can achieve this by practising mindfulness and being present in the moment, engaging in self-care and self-reflection, and seeking support from others who can help us find inner peace. By prioritizing our mental and emotional well-being, we can create a space where healing can take place.
