The Enlighten Co was founded in 2019 by co-founders Elle & Ella.

Our Story
In June 2019, two women, Elle Louise McBride and Ella Elizabeth Worsley took a two-day drive to the NSW coast, and that drive changed their lives. Prior to that drive, both women had been working together and bonding over their shared mission to inspire and heal women. Ella was co-facilitating a retreat called Reconnect, and Elle offered to help her promote it or even co-facilitate. Ella eventually asked Elle to co-facilitate at Reconnect, which was scheduled for July 2019.
During their drive to the NSW coast, Ella and Elle discussed ideas for their future, and the first seed was planted. They knew they would be doing more than just this one retreat, and they needed a name. After a stroll and a meditation near the Kiama cliffs and a coffee, they walked past a hairdresser called 'Enlighten Hair.' At that moment, both girls looked at each other and said Enlighten. The Enlighten Co. was born.
After that first retreat, The Enlighten Co. blossomed. Within the first 12 months, the company had become a multi six-figure business, launched Emerge, facilitated five life-changing retreats in Berry, Noosa, Gold Coast, and internationally in Bali, Indonesia, facilitated 32 in-person events, launched NOURISH a breakfast networking event, given away over $30,000 worth of coaching, event tickets, programs, retreat and immersion spaces, launched GIVE, and run two free three-day challenges.
Fast forward to 2023 and the global pandemic having put limitations on in-person experiences, The Enlighten co has facilitated over 17 Life changing retreats, become a 7 figure business and impacts thousands online and in-person annually.
The Enlighten Co. is a testament to the power of collaboration, inspiration, and connection. Through their work, Ella and Elle have shown that it is possible to turn a passion into a thriving business that positively impacts the lives of others. The company is proof that anything is possible when you put your mind and heart into it.

In 2019, Elle and Ella's first retreat experience in Berry was enhanced by something truly special - the indigenous plant known as Gumbi Gumbi. A gift from Ella's mom, Cath, these capsules were believed to support mental stability, immune health, and women's wellness. The girls used them throughout the retreat and were so impressed with the results that they continued to use and purchase them thereafter.
When it came time to rebrand their business, The Enlighten Co, in December 2020, Elle and Ella wanted a symbol of healing, transformation, and stability that was feminine in nature. After sipping on Cacao and exploring design ideas, they landed on a flower, and a quick Google search for an indigenous Australian healing flower for women led them to Gumbi Gumbi - the same plant that had played a role in their personal wellness journeys.
Evelyn, the retreat chef and artist, was enlisted to create the new logo featuring Gumbi Gumbi, and it has since become a beloved representation of the company. The star-shaped flower and fruit, found in Australia's drier regions, is considered the most potent and versatile of all indigenous medicines.
The Enlighten Co community is made up of individuals who, like star seeds, possess unique qualities and often feel lost on their paths. Gumbi Gumbi has journeyed with the company and brought its powerful medicine into their hearts, for which they are forever grateful.
